I would have to start working in Costa Mesa, Orange County, CA. What would be the best place to live in?
Looking for a safe area. Willing to commute around half an hour one way.

It all depends on how much you'd like to spend. We live in Irvine, which is one of America's safest cities. However, it's expensive (it's the next city over from Costa Mesa.) Parts of Costa Mesa are nice; parts are a little run-down. If you're not worried about schools, why not live near the beach?

If you can afford it, live in Newport Beach. Its very nice and safe, plus close to the beach!!

Irvine (safest city in America, four years in a row), Newport Beach, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Tustin.

You would actually be fine living in Costa Mesa. Nice place actually.

Irvine, Orange, Costa Mesa, Tustin are all very nice, safe and close .....

Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Irvine, Orange. In most of the cities there are nice areas and not so nice areas. There are really nice houses and apartments in Costa Mesa if you look in the right areas.

Costa Mesa is perfectly fine. Actually, most of Orange County is very safe. Just avoid certain parts of Santa Ana and Anaheim. Irvine might be good for you too.
